Defence agency extends funding advisory service

The European Defence Agency has broadened the free support it offers on winning funding for defence-related projects, to include the EU’s European Social Fund.

The EDA announced the launch of the new branch of its advisory service yesterday. The scheme is called ESF4KSC, as its aim is to provide access to the European Social Fund for projects that promise to enhance key skills and competences for defence.

The ESF is one of the EU’s structural funds, and is intended to support employment-related projects and invest in human capital. The EDA is hoping to boost support for defence-related projects through the ESF, and has asked defence ministries in EU countries to put out calls for appropriate projects. It will then select promising proposals and provide free advice on how to meet the requirements for ESF funding.
