Commission presents digital vision to G7

The EU’s proposed additions to cybersecurity and data laws will be made available to leading governments as potential models for other countries.

Andrus Ansip, European Commission vice-president and commissioner for the digital single market, will present the legislation at the G7 innovation week in Turin, Italy, on 26 and 27 September.

Ansip will attend ICT and industry ministers’ meetings to discuss how to help small companies succeed in the next industrial revolution, the European Commission revealed yesterday. Developed countries see themselves as being on the cusp of a new stage of production—dubbed Industry 4.0—which uses interconnected digital technologies such as advanced robotics and artificial intelligence.
