European Commission hopes better information will embolden investors in uncrewed aircraft

The European Commission and European Investment Bank have announced the launch of a dedicated advisory platform for uncrewed aircraft—also known as drones. They hope it will spur innovation by improving entrepreneurs’ access to EU funding and helping investors understand the fledgling market.

Investment could flow into areas ranging from support for commercial activities to takeoff and landing zones, the Commission said in a press release on the European Drone Investment Advisory Platform on 17 October.
