The Council of the EU and the European Parliament have reached a provisional agreement on the EU’s 2021-27 Digital Europe programme, which will fund digital technologies.
A partial deal on the programme was secured on 13 February. It is the first agreement among the EU institutions on any of the bloc’s planned programmes for 2021-27.
Digital Europe has a proposed budget of more than €9 billion. However, the partial agreement did not extend to the budget, as the Council has yet to settle its own position on the EU’s 2021-27 funding priorities. Digital Europe will be the first dedicated EU programme for digital technologies.
