EU investment bank approves €1 trillion green spending plan

  

EIB move coincides with promise from 450 development banks to reconsider fossil fuel funding

The European Investment Bank has fulfilled its promise to commit €1 trillion to support environmental sustainability worldwide.

The EU bank’s board of directors approved its 2021-25 “climate bank” investment strategy on 11 November, confirming the details of a €1tn green investment plan announced almost a year earlier.
