EU wants quantum ideas, AI experts and a supercomputer

High-performance computer to support EU initiatives in medicine, materials and climate change

The EU has issued several calls to boost its technology infrastructure, soliciting research ideas on quantum communications, expertise in artificial intelligence and bids to build a supercomputer.

The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking, a public-private partnership, launched a call on 25 March for a ‘petascale supercomputer’ that can process more than one million billion calculations per second.
