Commission suggests ways to get more out of research

Suggestions include boosting academia-industry collaborations and engagement with local communities

The European Commission has published suggestions for how the EU can increase the use and impact of research—a well-known and much-lamented European weakness—as an early step towards a strategy for such valorisation.

A policy review report published on 1 July, titled Research and Innovation Valorisation Channels and Tools: Boosting the Transformation of Knowledge into New Sustainable Solutions, analysed the “main channels” for such a strategy.
