EU survey finds support for boosting existing AI networks

Respondents favoured supporting existing networks over creating a new AI centre

Feedback on the European Commission’s plan to boost R&D on artificial intelligence technologies in the EU has identified more support for boosting existing networks than for setting up a new centre of excellence.

Among respondents to the survey, 86 per cent said support for existing AI R&D networks was very important, whereas only 64 per cent thought the same about a novel ‘lighthouse’ AI R&D centre.
