At a glance: The EU’s new research and innovation missions

   

A quick look at the missions’ goals, research plans and budgets

This week, the European Commission launched five research and innovation missions to help the EU tackle societal challenges around climate change, cancer, oceans and other waters, cities, and soil health.

The missions are a new form of activity for the EU. Although they are rooted in research and innovation, they aim to bring together a broad range of activities, actors and funding sources to achieve ambitious goals that should have a real impact on people’s lives.
