European Innovation Council board member says new leadership can build agency on par with ERC

The first head of the EU’s innovation funder will have a chance to build a top-tier agency on a par with the renowned European Research Council, a member of the new body’s board has said.

On 17 November the European Commission announced it was looking for a “high-profile public figure” to be the first board president of the European Innovation Council and oversee its €10 billion budget for the coming seven years.
