Model of public-private partnerships could be an area for change, meeting participants suggest
The planned creation of an EU agency for tackling health emergencies—the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority—could present the chance to reset ties between the pharmaceutical industry and other biomedical actors, some people in the field believe.
The view was expressed at a meeting of representatives of learned academies, industry, civil society and patient groups last month, the Federation of European Academies of Medicine and the Wellcome Trust, which organised the meeting to discuss Hera, reported on 12 April.
