Code is intended to boost market uptake of research results

The European Commission has opened a consultation on a planned code of practice on the use of intellectual property, which is intended to help “ensure market uptake of research output and Europe’s competitive leadership in technology”.

Jean-Eric Paquet, the Commission’s top R&D official, called on stakeholders to submit input, tweeting on 26 April: “To lead the twin [digital and green] transitions and [pandemic] recovery, the EU needs to promote a culture of knowledge-sharing and valorisation among all research and innovation actors, from education and research to industry and society.”
