Research and innovation again among regional development funding priorities

National and regional governments will determine how the funding is used, but the European Commission said on 25 June that the focus “remains the promotion of economic, social and territorial convergence, through sustainable competitiveness, research and innovation [and the] digital transition”, among other areas.
