The EU is set to ask the R&D sector to develop a system that incentivises the use of research results in business and society, through so-called ‘knowledge valorisation’.
Draft recommendations from the Council of the EU, which represents the 27 member state governments, call for a “fair system” to encourage researchers, innovators, students and other staff members at universities and research organisations to use their research results for socioeconomic purposes.
