Christian Ehler says “ridiculous” European Innovation Council situation should be a resigning matter for commissioners
The influential MEP Christian Ehler has blasted the European Commission for its running of the EU’s European Innovation Council funder, leading the European Parliament research committee in calling for 70 per cent of the budget of one of the EIC’s instruments to be held back until the problems are resolved.
Part of the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme, the EIC has a remit to fund the development of research-based innovations and the growth of the small companies behind them.
