‘Contractual dispute’ prompts change to EIC application system

Change follows feedback that AI platform is “too complex”

The European Innovation Council is changing the way innovators are asked to apply for funding from its Accelerator instrument, which offers a mix of grants and investment to help small companies grow technology-based businesses.

Launched fully in 2021, the EIC has a budget of €10 billion to support the development of breakthrough technologies and their commercialisation as part of the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. Its Accelerator instrument provides grants of up to €2.5 million, and direct investment of up to €15m.
