EIC budget cut will discourage startups, EU warned

Group representing innovation consultants says innovation funder must provide “realistic chance” of funding

Concerns have been raised that a drop in the European Innovation Council’s budget in 2024 could stop early-stage startups from applying to the EU’s flagship innovation funder.

The European Association of Innovation Consultants (EAIC) said on 13 July that the EIC’s Accelerator scheme, which supports companies to develop and scale up innovations, needs to be seen as providing “a realistic chance of obtaining funding”.
