EU innovation efforts target food and bioeconomy

Bloc to launch Regional Innovation Valleys focussed on the agriculture

The EU will target food innovation as part of wider efforts for its regions to form so-called innovation valleys.

Plans for Regional Innovation Valleys were set out last summer by the European Commission in its New European Innovation Agenda, which aims to put the bloc at the forefront of ‘deep tech’—technology using innovative science and research, such as artificial intelligence.
