Joint state aid works best for EU clean tech, study finds

Multinational rather than individual state aid initiatives “result in higher economic impact”

State aid for clean technology industries is likely to have a more positive impact if it is provided jointly by several countries rather than individually, according to an analysis by the Joint Research Centre.

The JRC, which provides the European Commission with evidence to support policy, reported on 13 August that it had analysed hypothetical scenarios in which France, Germany and Italy provided state aid either jointly or individually.
