Ireland ‘punching above its weight’ in accessing funds

Ireland has secured €333 million in funding from FP7 and small indigenous companies have a higher participation rate in the programme than those of any other member state, according to the junior minister for research, Sean Sherlock.

Speaking at a meeting of the EU research council in Brussels on 30 September, he said this success had helped boost Ireland’s reputation abroad.
