Extra research themes have been added to those funded under the US-Ireland Research and Development Partnership programme, which has invested €14 million in joint research in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the US since its foundation in 2006.
Collaborations in telecommunications, energy and sustainability will now qualify for funding, according to an announcement on 1 November.
