The Taoiseach (prime minister), Enda Kenny, has launched the Maritime and Energy Resource Cluster, a research unit that is expected to foster strong links with industry.
It will deliver 70 research jobs by 2014, according to the partners involved: University College Cork, Cork Institute of Technology and the Irish Naval Service.
