More than 90 jobs are expected to be created by a €6 million research and development investment by the state-owned peat production company Bord na Mona. They would be in addition to 20 hi-tech jobs for which the company is currently recruiting.
Details of the expansion were announced on 19 December by ministers Richard Bruton, jobs, enterprise and innovation, and Pat Rabbitte, communications, energy and natural resources, at the company’s headquarters in Newbridge, Co Kildare.
