Humanities remain part of research and innovation agenda

Digitisation of Ireland’s cultural history supports digital innovation and information technology development, adds to the country’s reputation and harnesses its human capital, the minister of state for research has said.

Sean Sherlock was addressing a three-day Digital Repository of Ireland conference in Dublin on 25 October. Research and innovation were a “cornerstone” of Ireland’s economic development, and humanities and social sciences were part of the research and innovation agenda, he said.
