Queen’s announces €40m medical research centre

A funding package for Queen’s University Belfast will see the establishment of a €40 million centre for medical research into eye disease, diabetes and genomics.

The funding includes a €15m contribution from Atlantic Philanthropies—the largest single gift yet received by Queen’s. Atlantic Philanthropies is the vehicle used by businessman Chuck Feeney to support research across the island of Ireland.
