Galway joins consortium to consolidate medical data

Galway researchers in the Digital Enterprise Research Institute are participants in a €4.4 million EU-funded research consortium that will build a database of medical information to aid doctors.

Announced by National University of Ireland Galway on 20 November, the Linked2Safety consortium involves 11 partners, including universities and companies in eight countries. The goal is to tap into medical records in hospitals across Europe and develop a system to access the diagnostic and treatment information they contain.
