Multinationals help put Ireland in EU’s research top 10

Ireland’s success in promoting foreign direct investment has helped put the country in the top 10 European Union member states for investment in research and development.

An R&D scorecard published by the EU on 6 December showed that many EU-based firms continued to invest in R&D despite the tough economic conditions. It showed trends in company investment in research across 1,500 firms.
