Industry group to be part of government game plan

The government continues to focus attention on development of the games sector in Ireland with the announcement of an industry-led group to boost games development and help deliver 2,500 additional jobs by 2014.

The government prioritised the games sector when it came into office last year. On 25 July it announced a “clustering development team” to increase growth and jobs in the sector. The group includes a mix of games company executives, officials from the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and staff from other state bodies, including Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland and education bodies.
