Bank backs student loan programmes

Bank of Ireland is emerging as a major provider of student loans, conducting negotiations with all the universities to agree schemes.

On 7 August the bank announced a general loan arrangement for post-graduate students. It already had a programme for undergraduate student loans. And on 8 August University College Cork announced it had agreed a low-rate lending programme for undergrads, backed by the bank.
