The representative body for engineers has called on industry to take a more active role in supporting maths teachers as they seek to encourage student interest in the subject.
The call came on 8 August as Engineers Ireland issued the results of a poll which showed that more than half of maths teachers felt the new “Project Maths” curriculum would not improve achievement in the subject.
