Former Microsoft executive will chair Science Foundation Ireland

Ann Riordan, who established Microsoft Ireland in 1990, has been appointed chairwoman at Science Foundation Ireland.

Riordan will be joined on the board by two new members, Geraldine Ruane and Aidan Donnelly.

The three appointments were announced jointly by enterprise and research ministers Richard Bruton and Sean Sherlock on 6 December. The new members will strengthen the foundation’s board by contributing valuable experience and skills, Bruton said.
