The Irish Cancer Society and Science Foundation Ireland have joined to form a clinical research network for blood cancers, comitting funding of €2.2 million.
The funding, announced on 25 November, will support Blood Cancer Network Ireland, a virtual network that will allow Irish patients to join early stage haematology drug trials for novel therapies.
It will also support collaborative cancer research involving clinicians, university-based researchers and epidemiologists to increase the rate of therapeutic discoveries, the Irish Cancer Society said in a statement.
