Science Foundation Ireland details ambitions for 2016

A call for proposals to set up between three and five high-budget research centres will open later this year, according to plans released by Science Foundation Ireland in its end-of-year statement.

The statement, published on 15 December, said that fellowships for academics to spend time in industry will also be set up in 2016.

Foundation director general Mark Ferguson, speaking at the end-of-year statement launch, said that he was happy about progress made in 2015 and that he is ambitious about what can be achieved in the coming year.
