Apple has announced its largest investment yet in Europe, a €850-million data centre in Athenry, County Galway.
Details of the centre were announced on 23 February and were described as “fantastic news” for the west of Ireland town by the Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
The company already employs more than 4,000 people, mainly in Cork. The company also said it would build a similar data centre in Viborg, Denmark.
