The Irish Cancer Society has appointed Robert O’Connor as its head of research.
O’Connor, whose appointment was announced on 20 February, has lectured in biological science and is a programme leader in translational cancer pharmacology research at the National Institute for Cellular Biotechnology at Dublin City University.
He has lab experience in cancer research and has been involved in translational research and clinical trials in his role as chairman of the translational group of the All Ireland Cooperative Clinical Research Group.
