Teagasc appoints food research head

Teagasc, Ireland’s agricultural research and advisory body, has appointed Mark Fenelon as head of food research.

The appointment was approved by the Teagasc Authority on 4 March.

Fenelon will oversee food research in two centres; Moorepark in Cork and Ashtown in Dublin. The programme involves the work of 130 staff, 70 research fellows and has a budget of €17 million. He moves from his position as principal research officer in Teagasc.
