Dublin City and US firm start learning assessment project

Dublin City University and American company Prometric have announced a research partnership worth almost €1million with additional funding of over €2.5m to expand the firm’s activities in Ireland.

The company set up a centre in Ireland 10 years ago with a cumulative investment of €75m. It said on 1 April it would expand its activities and fund a three-year research partnership with the university.

The university will establish the Centre for Assessment Research in Education to develop tests that measure how well students are learning in areas such as critical thinking, skills assessment and knowledge recall, the university said. Tests would be developed for all levels of education.
