The Adapt Centre for Digital Content Technology has won a second six-year contract from Science Foundation Ireland to pursue research related to the access and use of global content streams.
The centre will receive €24 million from the SFI and €26m from the 19 industrial partners taking part in the centre’s activities, the foundation announced on 13 January.
The centre’s work plan will expand during its second six-year contract, with the aim of becoming a leader in next generation digital-content technologies. Adapt expects to train 200 postgraduate students over that period, the centre said in a statement. It would also create 300 jobs in spin-out companies.
