Trinity signs deal with US Department of Health

Trinity College Dublin has announced a €1.1 million, five year research programme agreed with the US Department of Health and Human Services that will focus on brain dysfunction.

The Irish research effort will also involve colleagues in Maynooth University and the University of East Anglia, Trinity said in a statement released on 17 October.

Colm Cunningham will lead the research with funding from the National Institute on Aging of the US National Institutes of Health. It will study how brain function can be disturbed by acute illness to cause delirium, profound disorientation and confusion.
