The US-based United Technologies Research Center is to invest €500,000 in cash and provide €1 million of in-kind contributions to the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at University College Cork.
An additional €500,000 will be invested by Science Foundation Ireland, which funds the Cork research centre.
Announced on 20 October, the partnership will carry out research into artificial intelligence, data analytics, machine learning and human-machine interaction. The Cork lab will link up the company’s staff at its base in Connecticut.
