Foundation names award winners for 2016

Barry O’Sullivan of University College Cork has been named the Science Foundation Ireland Researcher of the Year 2016, one of seven awards announced by the foundation on 13 November.

The details of the award were released ahead of SFI’s annual Science Summit, which this year took place in Dublin.

O’Sullivan is director of the Insight big data research centre and conducts wide ranging research into use of the vast amounts of data being stored around the world.
