Irish academics have returned from a major international mission to set up research and exchange links with their counterparts in China as part of a wider scheme to boost the value of international education at home by half a billion euros.
Senior staff from 19 Irish higher education institutions took part in the week long Education in Ireland mission to China, which ended on 30 October.
The mission started in Beijing and participants also visited Wuhan, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Ireland was declared a “Country of Honour” at the China Education Expo that took place during the visit.
