NSF and Science Foundation Ireland renew student placement programme

Science Foundation Ireland and the US National Science Foundation have decided to continue a joint programme that encourages young American students to sign up for research placements in Ireland.

Ireland’s involvement in the NSF programme Graduate Research Opportunities Worldwide started in 2013 and sees US researchers spending three to 12 months in an Irish higher education institution.

Details of the continuation were announced in a statement from the heads of the two foundations, Mark Ferguson and France Córdova, released on 15 November.
