Cork Institute of Technology in Ireland and Ulster University in Northern Ireland will be partners in a project on new ways to care for people who develop dementia.
Announced on 8 August, the project has received support worth more than €500,000 under the Horizon 2020 Marie Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange programme.
The project, called SenseCare, will see the development of a platform to provide a range of technology systems. A core element is the use of “affective computing”, where the computer learns aspects of human behaviour and feelings.
