Research centre to focus on vascular diseases

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland has established the Irish Centre for Vascular Biology, where scientists will develop treatments for a range of vascular diseases.

The centre, announced on 30 March, will be based at the college but will involve people from universities, hospitals and companies in both the north and south of Ireland.

The goal is to create a single national Irish centre of excellence in vascular biology and establish expertise at an international level.
