The Health Research Board’s Mother and Baby Clinical Trial Network has received additional funding from the board to begin three clinical studies looking at health outcomes of pregnant women.
The research, anounced on 27 April, will focus on women with diabetes, prevention of blood clotting and the current high rates of caesarean section.
The three trials will involve recruiting more than 1,000 women over the coming three years.
