Government-led programme seeks to develop talent pipeline for the future
The Irish Research Council has awarded funding worth €24.7 million in support of 294 postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers who can use the money to develop their careers.
The awards are made under the so-called Government of Ireland programmes, the council said in a statement issued on 5 November. They are meant to help the brightest students develop new knowledge and skills needed by Ireland, said John Halligan, minister for research, innovation and development.
