Carlos Moedas, the EU’s research commissioner, was in Dublin on 27 June for meetings with high-level politicians to discuss Ireland’s innovation capacity.
Moedas met for talks with Heather Humphreys, minister for business, enterprise and innovation, and John Halligan, minister for training, skills, innovation, research and development.
While there, he announced that eight innovative Irish small and medium-sized businesses had won research funding from the European Innovation Council. He also revealed three Irish appointments to the council’s advisory board.
