Nineteen institutions to benefit from free access to millions of articles and open publication

Ireland’s universities and institutes of technology have finalised an agreement with science publisher Elsevier, under which they will have free access to millions of articles across 2,500 journals.

Announced on 18 February, the three-year agreement gives the country’s 19 higher education institutions access to Elsevier’s freedom collection of 16 million publications. It is hoped the deal will advance Ireland’s transition towards open access.
