Dedicated Covid-19 fund supports 26 projects

Financing is part of Ireland-wide push to beat the pandemic through research

A total of 26 research projects aimed at tackling coronavirus have received funding worth a combined €5 million under the first round of a government scheme.

The support comes from a newly launched national coordinated research and innovation approach to the pandemic. It is separate from research activity already underway in Ireland’s universities and institutes of technology.
